Stand up on May 1, 2012 and Occupy MayDay! This is everyone’s cause, so join us!
May 1st, 2012: May Day is historically international workers day, and I haven’t posted about this yet, but there’s a call to action for a global day of protest/strike, similar to what the world saw on October 15, 2011 in 2600 cities around the world.

Take to the streets in solidarity for the right to unionize, to empower unions in countries where unions are repressed and where union busting runs rampant, and to empower people, and perhaps most importantly: to show the powers that be that there are more of us than there are of them. If protesting on the streets isn’t your thing, do your part by boycotting shopping for a day, trading on the stock markets, or calling in sick to work or staying in from school and letting other people know why you’re doing it. Think of those last two actions as an invisible global picket line - no one crosses the picket during strikes out of solidarity! Stand with your brothers and sisters around the world! Stand with us as we peacefully rise up in protest for:
FOR ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND LABOUR RIGHTS
FOR PEACE WITH JUSTICE
FOR CIVIL LIBERTIES AND AN END TO THE POLICE STATE
FOR HOUSING, EDUCATION, AND HEALTH CARE AS HUMAN RIGHTS
FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUITY
FOR TRUE DEMOCRACY DOMESTICALLY AND IN SOLIDARITY OF THE DEMOCRATIC STRUGGLES INTERNATIONALLY
TO BE A VOICE IN THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT AGAINST SHAM DEMOCRACIES AND CORPORATOCRACIES
